The annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas is known for its captivating display of hi-tech gadgets, but some of the buzz this year will be about what you can’t be seen.

A whole day of the weeklong exhibition is devoted to digital money. Tuesday’s so-called digital money forum covers everything from cryptocurrencies to blockchain technology to digital wallets.

Among the many high-profile industry speakers are Brad Garlinghouse, CEO of Ripple, the No. 2 cryptocurrency based on market capitalization, and Bill Shihara, founder and CEO of Bittrex, the third largest crypto-exchange by volume.

Crypto currency investors, entrepreneurs, developers and devotees will explore what some call the Wild West of 21st century finance as well as the democratization of money.
